I genuinely love working with my clients. I consider it an honor to be trusted to counsel individuals as they navigate difficult circumstances, plan for the future, or work to accomplish business goals. Being an advocate for my clients is a privilege I never take lightly.

I know your legal matter is of utmost importance to you. However, many people often avoid handling their legal issues because it can feel overwhelming and stressful. I am committed to making sure my clients never feel that way. I want each client to feel comfortable, empowered, and knowledgeable about the best solutions to their legal matter.

A little more about me . . .

Attorney, Lawyer, Karlie Hudson, Smithfield, Johnston County, North Carolina, Benson
  • I had the distinct honor of starting my legal career as a law clerk at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. I clerked for Judge Robert N. Hunter, Jr. and I consider my clerkship to be one of the best experiences of my life. As a clerk I learned about the practice of law from the perspective of an appellate judge - an experience which continues to influence my advocacy as an attorney.

After my clerkship, I worked as an associate attorney at a premier Johnston County firm where I was immersed in civil litigation, complex business transactions, and estate planning.

My next experience was at a large Am Law 200 firm in downtown Raleigh where I counseled businesses and insurance companies, primarily in workers’ compensation matters.

Before starting my legal career, I was an elementary school teacher. I taught English as a Second Language in Sampson County Public Schools.

  • I am a proud two-time graduate of Campbell University. I received my bachelor’s degree in government, with minors in Spanish and history, and graduated magna cum laude. While in undergrad at Campbell, I played Division I varsity softball.

I later attended law school at Campbell, where I also graduated magna cum laude, and was ranked in the top ten of my graduating class.

  • In undergrad at Campbell, I played Division I varsity softball and was a four-year team captain. I made the All- Conference team and was a second-team Academic All-American. I was also named Campbell’s most outstanding female athlete my senior year.

In law school, I received the best advocate award in Campbell’s moot court competition, and was named a top-ten advocate at the American Bar Association’s Regional Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C.

I also received awards for the top grades in my class in Civil Procedure and Constitutional Law; and I was an editor and published author for the Campbell Law Review.

  • I am a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Johnston County Bar Association.

In addition to practicing law, I enjoy teaching as an adjunct faculty member at Johnston Community College in the paralegal technology program.
